Bio
Allison Woods is an artist and a photographer based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Through her work, she aims to explore the relationship between the audience and the artist through the lens of memory, impermanence, and wonder. By decontextualizing subject matter from its original purpose, Allison encourages the viewer to question the importance of how we go through spaces and what is seen as valuable enough to remember and hold onto with our experience of identity within that time. Through the use of often vapid subjects, she calls into question how everyday objects or places that can weigh on our sense of purpose and identity while the connection of broken and new relationships can affect how we decide to describe and understand ourselves better. This universal experience of living and navigating our identity through an era of labels, grids, and roles brings existential dread once the realization that who we are doesn’t matter and that we truly can’t grasp our true selves.
Even though my portfolio has many different factions, I love photography in every aspect, which means that I am always up for new oppurtunites to work with clients, other artists, photographers, and anyone interested in commercial work! Use this space to ask me questions regarding my rates for shoots, freelance work, as a visiting artist, and to start a conversation with me!
